Major Changes...

There have been some MAJOR changes to our wedding! First of all....We are now getting married in Jamaica! Can you believe it? We can't! It is awesome. We are staying at Sandals Ochos Rios which is the biggest Sandals resort there is and we are hoping to get married on December 23rd. It turns out that this is much cheaper than our reception that we have booked here and we are super excited! We leave from Harrisburg International Airport on December 20th, 2009 early in the morning. When we arrive in Jamaica we get to spend so much time doing everything we could possibly want to do. Everything is included since it is an all inclusive resort and there is so much for us to do like snorkeling, parasailing, seeing Dunn's River Falls, etc. We have swim up bars, 10 bars in the resort total, 11 resuartants, and we can go the the other resort that we were planning to stay at as much as we want to! We have to be in Jamaica for two days and one of them has to be a business day so we are going to leave sunday(the day that you arrive doesn't count), spend all day there, then spend monday and tuesday together just having fun, and then wednesday we are getting married (as long as they have the date open). We are EXTREMELY excited. Kevin is nervous about flying but, I told him I will hold his hand tight. I love flying! We will be in Jamaica for Christmas as well! We get to be in 80+ degree weather on Christmas! It is really going to be the best experience and basically anything we could possibly want and need, we can have it there! Kevin can even talk to the concierge guy and have our room set up a certain we like with rose petals on the bed, etc. to surprise me! It is soooooo cool! Also, December 23rd is our two year anniversary! I think it will be so sweet! I can't think of a better way to celebrate!

Our families are not going however but, it is okay because we will take lots of pictures for them and also when we get home on May 15th 2010 (the day we originally planned to get married) we are planning to have a little ceremony even though it won't be an official ceremony since we will already be married. We are just going to do it in one of our family members backyard and we are going to have a little party/reception to celebrate. I think it will be really cute because then our families and friends can still feel included as well!

So basically, WE CANT WAIT! :) We are not sure if we are goign to get married on the beach or in the gazebo or in the hotel yet. We want to check out each place first and then decide!

YAY!

A few more details

I finally got in touch with the head lady for our reception! Instead of 2 kegs of beer we are now going to have 1 and now we have 4 hot hors d'oeuvres! I think some family members are worried that we will not have enough food but, our hors d'oeuvres are unlimited and I really think we will have enough. Not only that when the food does stop coming after 2 hours, there will be chips, pretzels, dip, etc. that everyone can snack on if they are still hungry and of course cake! A little comical update...we went to another place to see a reception hall just because ours is a little bit more expensive than we were hoping so we were looking to see if we could find anything cheaper. We walked into this place and the first thing I see are 3 giant elk heads hanging on the wall and the ugliest oldest looking american flag I have ever seen. It was the Elks club so the Elks made sense but that is not exactly what I wanted for our reception. The set up was very beautiful but, I still liked the other place much better. We decide NO to the elks and yes to our original ballroom reception. I am very excited to get decorations, my dress, oh just everything! It is so exciting!

Planning so far....

So far what we have planned for our big day is this:

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m..-The only issue we were a little bit worried about was getting my hair and make up done but, we figure we can probably find someone to do it. I mean c'mon, it's money we are talking about!

Our reception will begin at 11:30 a.m. and run until 4:30 p.m.- The place we are having our reception at, Holiday Inn West, is amazing! It is absolutely beautiful and it was about the cheapest we could find around here. We are having an afternoon reception because that is the time of day when the prices are the cheapest and let me tell you, its still not cheap! Instead of having an actual sit down meal, we are having unlimited hors d'oeuvres (we get to pick 3 hot ones from a list that all sound wonderful and we get to try them before, we also get 2 cold hors d'oeuvres). We are also having beer and soda for everyone. The room is beautiful; it is the biggest ball room and it is just wonderful! They provide the center pieces which I am so excited about because they are the exact center pieces I wanted! They provide the linens and the tables and the cake. For the cake we get to pick from 4 different bakers and we get to choose whatever cake we want with few limitations. We also get maitre d' services which is especially good because the day before our wedding is my last day of finals! It's nuts!

We are still searching for a D.J.

We think we are going to have my Dad and one of my best friends Jenna do the photography and as far as a DVD, we are just going to have someone record it, raw footage is better anyway for us!

We are still not positive about our honeymoon either but we want to go to an island hopefully!

Our colors are black and green sort of like the one in our background on here!

We are so excited. Mostly me because a lot of guys don't really find all this stuff too interesting, including Kevin. :)

Our Journey

We are getting married! May 15th, 2010. It is coming faster than we ever could have imagined. We have only been engaged for two short weeks, but it seems like the time is just flying by. As a couple, we try to do many things together. Sometimes, it is hard to find activities that we both enjoy. I really wanted to start a blog about our journey to the big day! I am not sure that Kevin is too excited about it, but what the hey! I figure it will be a great memory keeper and a wonderful reminder of our engagement experience. I think he will enjoy it once he really gets a taste of how fun it is!

SOOOO the big day:

Who? Kevin Roy and Sarah Silvani

What? Our wedding!

When? May 15th, 2010

Where? Ceremony: Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church
Reception: Holiday Inn West

Why? God allowed our paths to cross. He gave me (Sarah) an angel (Kevin). God has given us a chance to celebrate life together. We are two bodies, with one soul. God showed us that we were put here for a greater purpose, to serve Him and He showed us the path to Him. He allowed us to make this journey together and united us in many common ways but, the most important common factor is this: LOVE!

We hope that you may enjoy this journey with us and that you may find pleasure in our pages and happiness in our stories! Welcome to our blog! Welcome to our journey!
